There are few places that embody the spirit of protecting thy neighbor like The City of Fredericksburg. As a candidate running for City Council Ward-One, I have had the privilege of, meeting with my neighbors. I’m reminded of something fundamental—what makes Fredericksburg great is not just our unique history, but our unshakable belief in a better future.
Fredericksburg’s history speaks for itself. It is a place where George Washington was born, where James Monroe learned his craft, and where our nation fought in the battle during the Civil War. History is more than just dates and battles; it’s a living, breathing thing. It shapes who we are today.
In Fredericksburg, you feel the strength of community. Whether it’s the small business owners who provide jobs, or the teachers and first responders who serve with unwavering dedication, this is a place where people care about one another. The challenges of the modern world—be it economic hardship, healthcare, or the changing political climate in Richmond and Washington—are no match for the determination of the residents of Fredericksburg.
It is that spirit of determination that we must always foster. I believe we must invest in our communities—creating jobs, supporting small businesses, ensuring every family has access to affordable housing, and making sure that no person in this great city feels left behind.
As your voice on City Counsil, I will fight to bring more investment into Fredericksburg and use our resources to support smart growth, to find solutions to create workforce housing.
So, when you head to the polls this election, remember: It’s not just about voting for the right candidate; it’s about voting for a future where Fredericksburg will lead the way in being the bright star in the region.
Together, we can build a future that honors the spirit of Fredericksburg—strong, united, and ready to meet whatever challenges lie ahead. Let’s do this, Vote for David Cropper!
